讲座摘要
Solar active region 12673 produced two most intense flares of Cycle 24 in September 2017. Its evolution was closely monitored by many observatories, which yielded observations with significant implications. In this talk, I will review selected results from the literature. I will also describe our own work on its magnetic field properties, with a focus on the “bald patch” topology, its formation, and its disintegration during the X9 flare.
